About Lynn

As vice president of marketing, Lynn Shelton directs the effort to grow Enterprise Minnesota’s consulting business and to advance Minnesota’s manufacturers as a key driver of Minnesota’s economy.  Lynn also leads legislative relations, and is publisher of Enterprise Minnesota®, the award-winning magazine for manufacturers. She received national recognition in 2010 by NIST/MEP, as Group Innovator, for the strategy behind Enterprise Minnesota’s State of Manufacturing® survey research project.

Lynn draws on extensive experience in marketing/communications, public affairs, public relations, fund-raising, non-profit management, publishing, and government relations.

Prior to joining Enterprise Minnesota in 2001, she worked as director of communications for the Minnesota Partnership for Action Against Tobacco (now called ClearWay Minnesota). She has served as director of MSP Communications Marketing at MSP Communications; as a practice group supervisor at Karwoski & Courage, the public relations arm of Martin Williams; as director of communications at the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development (now DEED); and as director of development for the Minnesota Private College Council.

Early in her career, Lynn worked in government. At the federal level she served in the Washington, D.C. offices of two United States Senators, and worked for the political arm of the GOP leadership. At the state level, she served four years as a senior staff member in the Minnesota State Senate.

Lynn currently sits on the Board of Directors for Seeing Hands – “Bringing the world of reading to blind children.”
