ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized standard that confirms a company is meeting the highest standards available for managing its business. ISO is a “roadmap” of business activity that streamlines processes, confirms practices that correctly match up with supplier and customer needs, and states that company management methodically measures quality throughout its entire business.
“The ISO 9001:2015 management system has helped us improve communication flow, find process improvements, enhance our problem-solving techniques and this process never stops,” said Dennis Heimerman, president and owner, Metal Services of Blooming Prairie. “Working with Greg Langfield and Enterprise Minnesota has been a joy, they have always been here to help when needed.”
Metal Services of Blooming Prairie is a Blooming Prairie, Minnesota-based manufacturer specializing in metal component design and fabrication for a variety of industries including aerospace, agriculture, and defense. Its extensive experience in custom metal machining enables the company to handle every phase of its customers’ projects, from design and prototyping through assembly and finishing.
Metal Services financed a portion of its ISO work through an investment from Minnesota’s Growth Acceleration Program (GAP). GAP is a direct state investment program aimed at helping manufacturing companies of 250 or fewer full-time employees to access business improvement services. Eligible companies must have a business plan for improvements and demonstrate an economic need for GAP. All companies awarded GAP resources must match at least $1 for every $1 of GAP investment. First authorized by the Minnesota State Legislature in 2007, GAP has helped over 320 Minnesota manufacturers and continues to receive bipartisan support for its valuable role in job creation and job retention in Minnesota’s manufacturing industry.
