Manufacturers to Gain Practical Problem Solving Savvy at March 20 Business Event
Four speakers will share their expertise and experience regarding the myriad benefits of Practical Problem Solving at Enterprise Minnesota's upcoming business event.
For manufacturers looking to continue their lean journey, Practical Problem Solving training may be just the ticket. On March 20, four experts will offer up a detailed overview of the program and its benefits, as well as examples of its continuing success in manufacturing companies across the state.
Practical Problem Solving is a business problem-solving training program offered by Enterprise Minnesota. The Toyota Production System-inspired program teaches key employees a structured method for learning to see problems and responding to problems effectively and efficiently. Company employees look at real-life problems in their plants, then learn how to analyze their root causes and determine the best solutions.
Enterprise Minnesota has consulted with manufacturers on Practical Problem Solving since 2009, with great results. At BTD Manufacturing, it has sparked a companywide commitment to continuous improvement, characterized by supervisors making hourly rounds to conduct on-the-spot problem solving throughout the 700-employee plant. At Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, it has empowered employees to suggest and implement about 50 problem-solving ideas per week.
Event speaker David Meier is president of Lean Associates, Inc. Meier is a Toyota Production System expert, co-author of The Toyota Way Fieldbook and Toyota Talent, and played a lead role in developing Enterprise Minnesota's Practical Problem Solving program.
Mike Braml, business growth advisor at Enterprise Minnesota, will offer a trainer's perspective.
Speakers Jane Schlagel, senior account executive at Fiserv, Inc and Jeremy Guhlke, machine operator and trainer at Alexandria Pro-Fab Co., Inc will also share firsthand perspectives on how the training advances businesses and how it has resulted in productive improvements for their respective businesses.
