Enterprise Minnesota To Help Iron Range Manufacturers Grow Profitably

A new partnership aims to help medium-size and smaller manufacturers on the Iron Range grow business. Enterprise Minnesota and the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) have announced plans for IRRRB GAP, an investment available to qualifying Taconite Assistance Area manufacturers that provides matching grants for companies to access business improvement services.

Economic Fears Fade for Minnesota Manufacturers

The worst of the recession may be over for Minnesota's manufacturers according to the State of Manufacturing, a major survey research project sponsored by Enterprise Minnesota and partners.Less than one in ten manufacturing executives (9 percent) anticipates a continued recession in 2011, while 40 percent foresee economic expansion.

Grant to Develop "Pathways to Business Growth"

Enterprise Minnesota will use the proceeds of a $515,000 national grant to help Minnesota-based manufacturers develop and implement innovative strategies that lead to growth. The grant, Pathways to Business Growth, is one of 22 awarded nationwide from a $9.1 million program funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
