A New Name Reflects Our More Focused Mission
In 1991 Minnesota Technology, Inc. debuted with the mission to help Minnesota manufacturers improve their productivity and efficiency through automation and technology. Over the years we introduced clients to lean manufacturing processes to help them become more efficient. We focused on improving operational processes that would lead to cost reduction and an improved competitive position. Overseas competition was for real and efficiency was vital to our state’s manufacturers.
As the world has become flatter we expanded our view from lean manufacturing to lean enterprise. We now complement our operational efficiency expertise to include programs for sales, marketing, product development, and supplier and customer relationships. We truly have evolved to help our clients across their extended lean enterprises. To celebrate this evolution, we are renaming and rebranding our organization Enterprise Minnesota.
What does that mean to you and your company? We are not abandoning our focus on manufacturing; in fact it is stronger than ever. We have developed programs that capitalize on the effectiveness of “leaning an organization” through new products, markets and sales channels.
One example, Training Within Industry, helps companies develop needed training for supervisors and first line managers. Another relatively new program, Accelerate, works with clients on creating and managing an effective supply chain process. Finally, we are helping clients develop, test and market new products through unique programs such as Eureka! Winning Ways®. This program applies hard data to growth strategies through a three step process: idea engineering, market research and an action plan designed to bring products to market. The program employs quantitative methodology to product development and trains your key staff members how to take new sales, market and product ideas from concept through introduction. So, welcome to Enterprise Minnesota. And welcome to the first issue of Enterprise Minnesota magazine. Just like many of our clients, the changing nature of business has led us to add new capacity and expertise. We grow and thrive by helping our clients do so.
